The great forests that have long existed on the Earth draw in huge amounts of carbon from the atmosphere. Proforestation is protecting the forests there still are, encouraging them to continue to heal and grow.
Petroleum
Petroleum is a yellowish-black liquid found in geological formations beneath the Earth's surface. The burning of petroleum as fuel releases toxic gases and carbon dioxide which contributes to global warming and ocean acidification.
